The U8As and Bs played fantastic games of football this afternoon at school against St Christopher’s.

The Bs played one of their best games of the season with the ball being held in the oppositions half for 80% of the match. The boys worked efficiently as a team strategically moving the ball around the pitch into the perfect striking position. With the striker and midfielders in the oppositions half the defenders held their position at the half way line and created a barrier that St. Christopher’s found impenetrable. Due to the great teamwork the Bs were able to secure a 2-0 win.

The As unfortunately were unable to secure a win ending the match in a 4-0 loss. However the score did not seem to affect the boys efforts as they gave it their all until the final whistle. The As have really come together as a team over the last months and are a pleasure to coach and watch. They seem to truly enjoy themselves every time they step onto the field. With a strong defence St Christopher’s had a hard time attempting to even get close to the goal and with upcoming star Rafe in goal many of the opposition’s attempts were stopped. Copthorne had several shots on goal but were unlucky as their keeper saved all the shots. All the boys have recognised areas of which needs work during training and this is something that all coaches will work towards improving over the next few weeks. JM
