U8B Netball v BHHS

16th March 2018

The U8Bs were on fire this week for their last match of what has been an amazing netball season. As soon as the whistle went at the start of the match the ball was swiftly brought down the court with excellent passing between Lucy, Josie and Amelie. In defence Levahna, Sophie and Arabella were marking their opponents very tightly, jumping for every ball to regain possession for Copthorne. Although Copthorne had the majority of the possession in the first quarter we only managed to score 1 goal. In the second quarter the girls’ fast and agile movement around court and strong passing skills shone through allowing Copthorne to take a strong lead. Lucy was brilliant in the centre court driving the ball forward in attack and quick to defend when needed. Amelie and Josie also worked brilliantly together as shooters and at half time Copthorne were in the lead 6-0. In the second half centre court players Arabella, Natasha and Natalie put on a good performance with some strong passing and excellent feeding into our shooters, helping to maintain our lead. Sophie and Levahna continued to be superb in defence and stopped the ball from getting into the

opposition’s third. Josie, Summer and Amelie worked amazingly together as shooters and this was reflected in the final score, scoring a total of 10 goals between them. Special mention to Amelie who was voted player of the match for her super shooting and quick movement around court. Congratulations to the whole team for an unbeaten season. You have been a brilliant group to coach and I’m so proud of you all, it has been an amazing term of netball. Finally I would like to say a big thank you to our supporters today and throughout the season.
