U8B Netball v LND

11th March 2016

Won 9-2

LND won the toss and took the first centre pass. Copthorne were very quick off the mark and soon intercepted the ball to gain possession. The ball was passed down the court and into shooters Lowenna and Gabriella and a goal was scored. Clara, Lulu and Mona worked well together in defence, marking tightly and jumping to intercept every ball. Scarlett and Millie linked together to pass the ball into the Copthorne shooters. At the end of the first quarter Copthorne were in the lead by 3 goals. In the second quarter Copthorne continued to work together as a team adding a further 3 goals to their score. At half time Copthorne were leading 6-2. After a quick team talk and a change of positions Copthorne were once again straight into their stride. They continued to work well as a team driving towards the ball and moving into space. Scarlett and Clara were superb in defence giving the LND shooters very few opportunities to shoot. Centre court players Tayla and Millie worked hard to get the ball into the D. Shooters Gabriella and Lowenna managed to get themselves close to the post and scored a further 3 goals before the final whistle was blown. It was a well deserved win for Copthorne 9-2. Congratulations to the team today for a superb performance. Well done to Gabriella who was voted player of the match and a special mention goes to Scarlett and Millie who worked tirelessly around court.

Well done girls! JC
