U9 ‘A’ Netball v Brambletye

14th September 2016

This week the U9A netball team took on Brambletye in their first match of their netball season. The girls have worked hard in games this week and were excited to play. Ella C was our captain this week and she tactically chose to shoot at the sun end! The girls got off to a flying start with a great centre pass from Harley to Ffion who then passed the ball straight into the circle resulting in a goal from Biba. The girls continued to pass accurately with great play between Biba and Ella resulting in a further 4 goals. Meanwhile Clara, Daisy and Layla were solid in defence making it hard for Brambletye to have a shot on goal. Throughout the first half the girls continued to impress me with their dodging, man to man marking and the accuracy of their play. It was fantastic to watch! The score at half time was 8-0!

During the second half the girls really showed their strength and versatility as a team. Even out of position they worked together, picking up loose balls and making their passes count. The final score was 17-2 to Copthorne! What a way to start girls!!

Player of the match voted by Brambletye was Biba M. I would like to congratulate the whole team, well done Clara B-D, Daisy E, Layla S-G, Victoria M, Harley B, Ffion W, Biba M and Ella C.
