U9 ‘A’ Netball v Cottesmore

19th November 2016

This week the U9’s took on Cottesmore, where Victoria was our Captain. Victoria got us off to a great start by winning the toss giving Copthorne the first centre pass. The courts this week were a little slippery due to a different playing surface; this took the girls a little time to get used to and play was a little scrappy. Copthorne soon settled down after the first goal was scored by Tayla! Tayla and Ella worked well together in the circle with Harley and Victoria backing them up at all times. Both Tayla and Ella scored a further goal meaning the score after the first quarter was 3-0 to Copthorne.

During the second quarter the girls picked up their game and the ball flowed down the court. We had goals from both Gabby and Biba and great defence from Layla and Daisy. Lowenna and Ffion were moving the ball nicely down the court too. The score at half time was 8-0 to Copthorne.

After half time it was clear that all girls were now into their game and had got used to playing different positions. This was great to see and really showed the depth of the squad. The final score was 15-0 to Copthorne with further goals from Tayla, Gabby, Layla and Daisy. Well done to all girls!

Cottesmore’s player of the match was Layla! Great defending and shooting Layla!
