U9 ‘A’ Netball v Handcross Park

12th November 2016

Clara was this weeks captain who unfortunately loss the toss allowing the shooters to choose their end. The girls got off to a slightly muddled start but it didn’t take them long to get back into the swing of their play. The first goal was then quickly scored by Ella. After this goal the Copthorne girls once again stepped it up a gear and there were pockets of outstanding play, with displays of fantastic team work. Ella and Biba were working well in the circle using Harley and Ffion while Layla and Clara were being solid in defence making good interceptions. The score at half time was 5-1 to Copthorne.

During the second half the girls really got into their stride and once again we had some outstanding elements of play in our game. Harley was controlling the game beautifully and everyone was man marking well, making it difficult for Handcross to move the ball into their shooting circle. At times Copthorne girls were almost flying as the ball moved so quickly down the court. (We must try to slow down a little!) The final score was 12-1!

This week’s player of the match was Clara, which was well deserved for her brilliant defending. Another great team effort from all the girls who played – well done! A huge thank you to all our supporters.
