U9 A Netball v Lancing College Prep – March 2017

12th March 2017

This week the U9A team travelled down to Lancing. After 2 weeks of hockey the girls were keen to get back on the netball court. Today’s captain was Biba! Despite not having the first centre pass the girls got off to a flying start, with Layla quickly winning back the ball. A few passes later from Harley, Ffion and Biba led to the first goal of the game, which was scored by Ella. The girls continued to work hard and dominate the ball with further goals coming from both Ella and Biba. The score after the first quarter was 8-0 to Copthorne. It was clear the girls hadn’t lost their netball flare!

During the second quarter the girls really did play some of their best netball. The attacking circle were moving brilliantly, Harley and Ffion were placing their passes while Danni and Layla were making great interceptions. The score at half time was 19-0! What a performance!

During the second half the girls all changed positions but as always continued to work as a team. This was great to see. Further goals came from Layla, Lowenna and Harley while Ella and Martha really stood out in defence. The final score was 26-0 to Copthorne.

A really encouraging performance for our upcoming tournament.

Ella was voted girl of the game- a worthy winner!

Well done girls!
