U9 ‘A’ Rugby v St. Christopher’s

23rd November 2016

Our first match of the season was a close encounter down at Hove. We are still learning the basics of contact rugby and at times it showed but I was very pleased with the way that the boys played today. Our tackling was determined and aggressive, though we do need to learn to fan out to keep defensive width and not give the opposition space on the flanks. Individually, we made some good runs in attack, with Adwitiya and William both making some good ground as well as Toby. James and Matteo were excellent in attack and defence, and Felix made the biggest tackle of the day in the last moments of the game. Rafe made a couple of excellent runs and was unlucky not to score, and Josh made some important tackles for us too. Overall a good performance and a very close game which we were a little unlucky to lose. Well played boys!
