U9 ‘B’ Cricket v Brambletye

Captain Lani won the toss and elected to field. He opened the bowling and showed just how well his bowling has progressed. He bowled a tight over and had the figures of 1-0-6-1. The good bowling continued throughout Copthorne’s turn in the field. Joseph and Dhruv also bowled well taking a crucial wicket each.  There were two superb direct-hit run outs from Lani and Jerome which really lifted the boys efforts. Alessandro bowled a super maiden over to finish the innings and the lads walked off knowing they had done very well in the first part of the game. Brambletye struggled to bowl a consistant line and length which made it difficult for our batsmen to play shots. However Dhruv and Jerome managed to put on 17 from their two overs of batting. Alessandro and Matthew made 15, Tom and William 1, Lani and Daniel 13. All in all it was a very pleasing performance and I was proud to see the progress in skill level that has been made. Final score: Copthorne 155 v Brambletye 126. A win by 29 runs. Well done to all the team (3 effort stars). Man of the match was Lani (double effort star). DM
