U9 ‘B’ Netball v Handcross Park

12th November 2016

This week I was lucky enough to be able to watch and umpire another of the junior teams, the U9B’s. The girls were keen to get going and due to the later start, it was decided that just two halves would be played. Tayla captained the side today and was super both on and off the court, also gaining the POM today from Handcross which was very well deserved.

After losing the toss the girls knew they had to turn over the centre pass which they did almost immediately and although it took them a few minutes to warm up and settle, Copthorne scored first with a great goal from Tayla, putting them ahead! The U9B’s then continued to improve during this first half with some great centre court play from Emilia, Millie and Lowenna who was superb and one of my POMS today! Tayla and Gabby also started to gel together more in attack, as did Mona and Katie in defence and during this first half two more great goals were scored by Tayla, putting Copthorne 3 goals up!

In the second half the wings were changed and both Belle and Amelie came on and slotted in well. The U9B’s completely dominated this half of the match and both Mona and Katie were solid in defence, allowing only one shot on goal in this half! Two further goals were scored by Tayla and Gabby, making the final score 5 goals to Copthorne and 0 to Handcross!

Well done to all of the U9B’s today, a great start for your first week back! My POM today was shared between Tayla, Lowenna and Mona. Keep it up girls!
