U9 ‘B’ Netball v St Christopher’s

12th October 2016

This week the U9 ‘B’ team had two matches. Their first match was against St Christopher’s where Tayla was our captain. The girls were a little nervous as they found out they were playing St Christopher’s ‘A’ team! Despite not having the first centre pass the Copthorne girls quickly proved that they were going to be a tough opposition. With a great interception from Mona the ball was moved down the court by Lowenna and Victoria and into the circle, resulting in the first goal of the game which was scored by Belle. During the second quarter the girls continued to play well and move into space. Interceptions were made by Mona and Millie whilst Tayla was playing well in attack. Both teams looked fairly even at this point and score at half time was 1-1!

During the second half the girls continued to play well and impress. Victoria and Tayla built up a great partnership in the circle, with Lowenna, Gabriella and Amelie linking the play and Mona being almost unpassable in defence. The final score finished 3-1 to Copthorne!

What a great team effort girls! Player of the match voted by St Christopher’s was Tayla. Well done!
