U9 B Rugby v Brambletye – March 2017

12th March 2017

The short trip to East Grinstead to take on Brambletye turned out to be really fruitful! Playing against a tough team was always going to be a big ask for the boys, but they came out with great enthusiasm and energy!

The first half saw Copthorne struggle as Brambletye got the better of us, going 3-0 ahead, before we got back into the game with a try from Luis B and Pranav L. The boys got stronger as a team as the game went on, but still Brambletye got the upper hand to lead 5-4 at the break.

The second half was nothing short of absolute brilliance from our boys. An outstanding performance to dominate the game and end up creating a 5 try margin after spectacular attacking play out wide as well as amazing defensive lines holding strong!

Luis B played well and deserved all 7 of the tries he scored throughout the game, most of which were assisted by great runs by Arun B and Lewis M. Alex M played well, getting 2 tries to his name and making good, hard tackles!

Elliot D played a great game, getting in stunning tackles and running hard up field, whilst Adwitiya was superb in his on-the-day captaincy, leading firmly from the front.

A huge congratulations to the boys on their marvellous efforts to win 13-8 as well as a massive well done to Pranav L, for his bravery, courage and boldness who after a massive collision and knee injury, decided to go back on to help guide the team to victory!

Well done boys!
