U9 Cricket v Ashdown House – Summer 2017

19th May 2017

Our game was one of only a few to survive the rain today as we travelled to Ashdown House. We lost the toss and were put in to bat. We made 168 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Our best batsmen were:
Josh who scored 13 from 9 balls
Pranav who scored 14 from 15 balls.
We did not score as many as we had hoped and losing 5 wickets cost us 25 runs.
In reply, Ashdown made 197 runs for the loss of only 1 wicket.
Our best bowling figures came from :
Dylan who took 1 wicket for 6 runs in his 2 overs
Josh who only conceded 7 from his 2 overs.
Failure to hit the ball cleanly enough and to take wickets turned out to be the difference between the two sides in the end.
