This week the U9s took on Cottesmore at netball and our captain was Ruby. The surface of the court was rather unusual so the girls would have to be careful with their feet and making bounce passes. The girls got off to a great start by immediately winning back the centre pass, passing the ball swiftly down the court and into Bethany who scored the first goal. A flying start! The girls continued to work hard in attack and move the ball around nicely leading to further goals from Rachel and Bethany, the score after the first quarter was 4-0 to Copthorne. In the second quarter the girls continued to work hard as a team and were linking the ball quickly around the court. Talia was solid in defence, making great interceptions while Jennifer and Bella were linking the play into the shooters. Rachel and Sophie were moving well forming a great sister team. The score at half time was 6-0 with both Rachel and Sophie scoring goals.

During the second half the girls continued to dominate the game and think carefully about their passing and moving into space. They were gelled as a team and responding well to different players and playing different positions. This was very promising to see. The final score was 14-2 to Copthorne with goals scored by Bethany, Rachel and Sophie.

Bethany was voted player of the match for her effortless shooting.

Well done to Ruby, Anna, Talia, Priya, Jennifer, Bella, Rachel, Bethany and Sophie.
