U9 Rugby v Hurstpierpoint

12th January 2017

The Under 9’s travelled to Hurstpierpoint and enjoyed some excellent matches today. The Under 9 B’s ran out winners by 19 tries to 15 in a game where there were numerous tries and not much effective tackling. Oliver had an amazing game, scoring more than half of the tries that we got. Lewis and Elliot both scored a couple of tries and Luis also got on the score sheet.

The A’s lost in a similarly high scoring game, where we scored 12 to Hurst’s 15 tries. For a long time the game was very evenly balanced and we traded tries for most of the game, but Hurst were slightly better, and in the end got a deserved win. Well done to all our players. Toby F scored 5 tries, Adwitiya and Felix T got 2 each, and James, Dylan and William all got a try. Josh and Matteo both shared the job of scrum half and performed very well. We still were a little too bunched up today, and need to work on playing with more structure and width, but we definitely looked better in attack where we looked to pass the ball a little earlier today. Well played boys!
