U9A Netball v Cumnor

5th February 2016

Won 13-1

Amreet was our captain this week and she got us off to a good start by winning the first centre pass.

Before the match the girls’ task was to think about their distance when marking the ball and to keep moving into spaces. They got off to a great start, passing the ball accurately and using the width of the court, the speed of play was also impressive and the man to man marking was excellent. By the end of the first quarter the score was 5-0 to Copthorne with both Zara and Keira scoring great goals.

During the second quarter the girls had a slight change around of positions, as did Cumnor. The passing from both teams was a little muddled but Copthorne continued to mark both players and the ball really well. The score at half time was now 6-0 with Keira being the only goal scorer.

During the second half we continued to switch around the positions and every player played something different. Copthorne showed tremendous versatility with further goals being scored by Annabelle, Amreet and Amelie and great defensive interceptions were made from Zara, Gaby, Keira and Eva. The girls were unstoppable!

The final score was 13-1 to Copthorne!

A great game girls and a well-deserved win! HC
