U9A Netball v Great Walstead

6th November 2015

Won 10-5

This week the U9A netball team took on Great Walstead with Sophie as their captain.

When warming up the girls realised that the courts were incredibly slippery and this really troubled a few of them. In the first quarter it was clear that something wasn’t quite right amongst the girls and they weren’t playing to the best of their ability. At the end of a scrappy quarter the score was 1-0 to Great Walstead!

After a little team talk and some reassurance the girls came out ready to play in the second quarter. They were on fire! Everyone was really working hard and fighting for every ball. Marking was tight and passing was accurate. The score was now 5-1 to Copthorne!

Throughout the second half the girls kept up their fighting spirit and were working as a team. Amreet, Eva and Sophie were tough to get past in defence making fantastic interceptions while Amelie and Gabrielle were moving the ball brilliantly down into the attack. Meanwhile Keira and Zara were working together to get into good shooting positions. The final score was 10-5 to Copthorne.

A tough game girls but a well-deserved win!

Amreet was our player of the match voted for by Great Walstead. Thank you once again to all our supporters. HC
