U9A Netball v Hurst

12th February 2016

Won 14-7

This week the U9A team took on Hurst.

Hurst U9s, just like Copthorne were an unbeaten team this year so we knew we were going to be in for a tough match. The match certainly didn’t disappoint. The captain this week was Keira who got Copthorne off to the best start giving us the first centre pass. The girls used this to their advantage with Keira scoring the first goal within 4 passes! The girls continued to play at an extremely high standard throughout the first quarter, looking untouchable. Goals were scored by both Keira and Zara with Amreet, Eva and Annabelle making great interceptions in defence while Gabbi and Amelie were linking the play together. It was clear the girls were thinking about their passes and dodging forwards for the ball. After the first quarter the score was 6-1 to Copthorne! What a strong start girls!!

Throughout the rest of the game the girls continued to play well showing off their skills. It was clear they were up against a tough team and the girls knew they would have to keep up their level of play. At half time the score was 9-2 to Copthorne.

During the second half the girls kept up their level of play even when playing slightly out of position. They worked fantastically as a team and it really was the best I have seen them play!

The final score was 14-7 to Copthorne – A very proud coach for another well-deserved win.

Congratulations to Zara, Keira, Amelie, Gabbi, Annabelle, Amreet and Eva!
