U9A Netball v St Christopher’s

22nd January 2016

Won 7-3

This week the U9A team took on St. Christopher’s in the frosty conditions. Gabrielle was our captain today! After not playing in a match for a few weeks now the girls were excited to play and keep their winning streak going. They got off to a bit of a slow start and I think they were a little shocked at how tough their opposition were. At the end of first quarter it was 1-1 with Zara being our goal scorer.

During the second quarter it was clear that the girls were now back in match mode. They were dodging forward for the ball and creating great spaces, they were man marking tightly and they were passing accurately making every ball count! The score at half time was now 4-1 to Copthorne. Zara and Keira were working brilliantly in the circle, while Amreet and Eva were strong in defence making fantastic interceptions. This was all held together by Amelie, Gabrielle, Sophie and Anabelle who were linking up all the play. I was also really impressed with the strength and accuracy of the passing – great work girls!!

The final score was 7-3 to Copthorne. All the girls who played should be commended! It was a fantastic competitive game all in good spirits. The girls player of the match was Amreet but a huge pat on the back to all the Copthorne girls – a great team win!

A huge thanks once again to all the supporters! HC
