U9A Rounders v Brambletye

8th May 2016

Won 21-7

This week’s captain was Keira who unfortunately loss the toss but that meant Copthorne were batting first. Time to put practice into a game!

In the first innings the girls batted really well. We were playing 30 good balls so the girls knew they would get 3 bats. Play safe for the first 2 and then risk on the third! Full rounders were scored by Annabelle, Ella and Eva with everyone else managing to score at least a ½!

The total scored was 12 with Annabelle scoring a total of 3! The girls now needed to be just as good in the field.

Copthorne fielded really well with great bowling from both Annabelle and Ellie. We managed to get 3 players stumped out with Gabrielle, Annabelle and Ella getting ball on to post. Brambletye scored 6 rounders giving Copthorne the lead at half time.

During the second innings the girls continued to play well thinking carefully about their batting. Full rounders were scored by Zara, Keira and Eva with Keira even managing to break 4th post to make sure her rounder counted! This time the girls scored 9 rounders, bringing their total to 21! A huge score! The fielding during the second innings was even better. Copthorne managed to stump 6 players out with stumping’s from Gabrielle, Amreet and Ella. The fielding was so tight that Brambletye only managed to score 1 rounder.

The final score was 21-7 to Copthorne with Keira being voted player of the match for her super rounder and breaking the post!

This week’s top scorer was Annabelle with 4½ rounders!

Well done girls! HC
