U9A Rugby v Lancing Prep

22nd January 2016

Try scorers: Archie (3), Sam P

The frost had only just thawed enough for the game to go ahead today, but fortunately we managed to get a game and it turned out to be a good one. Lancing Prep played some good rugby and had some large pacey boys, but at half time it was all very close at 2 tries each. Sam P scored our first try with a lovely swerving piece of running that saw him eluding several tackles. We tackled well, with William in particular standing out as he made tackle after tackle, sometimes driving the opponents back. Archie scored all of our other tries, showing good speed and strength to get over the line. James played well on his return to the As, and Sam R also put in a good performance. Unfortunately in the second half, the physicality of the game started to tell, and after a couple of our boys took a knock, our tackling started to lose some of its ferocity. The quality of some of the Lancing players began to show and in the end the bigger and better team won. Well done to all my players, you showed good aggression and determination. DJ
