U9B Football v St Christopher’s

13th November 2015

Won 2-0

Well could it get any better? Oh yes the boys won this 2-0. It was a hard working, patient performance against another strong side, after losing the first match, St Christopher’s strengthened their defence playing three or four very close to their goal. This made Luke’s role up front very difficult but he worked hard despite the frustration of being surrounded by two or three defenders a lot of the time.

This made chances few and far between but after 0-0 at half time the boys determination paid off with Chris scoring two goals … I am so glad he remembered his shin pads! The boys produced a complete team performance with passing and movement, defenders Wes, Tom and midfielders Archie, Ronnie, and Chris looking to play simple positive football. They dominated so much the hardest thing for our goalkeeper Will was getting him to put his keeping gloves on. They even missed a penalty at the end it was a refreshing showing from the team. They kept to their positions and ran hard all game, evidencing the hard work put in at games lessons.

Finally as ever a big thank you to parents of both sides , showing support of the boys and the school is so appreciated by the players and myself. AS
