The U9B’s waited in anticipation for the opposition from Ashdown House to arrive. So they were a little unnerved to see some fairly tall girls arriving on the court. It then transpired that Ashdown House had brought a mixed team of U9, U10 and U11’s to play. Although Copthorne found this a little daunting and were overpowered in many areas of the court they kept on battling. It was a difficult match to umpire, because of the different age groups, and a very difficult challenge for the girls.
However Copthorne didn’t give up and I was so impressed by their perseverance and team spirit. I would have chosen all the girls as Players of the Match although Ashdown House did choose Jennifer as their player. Well done girls a sterling performance!
