U9B Netball v Cumnor

5th February 2016

Won 4-3

The U9B’s played a very competitive match at Cumnor House this week.

The Copthorne Team had a slight lead after the first quarter of one goal. This advantage was held through the next three quarters with our girls finally winning four goals to three.

The squad of Ava, Simi, Isabella, Sophie, Charlotte, Ellie, Kirsten and Kimberley worked extremely hard and had most of the play. They were versatile enough to change positions and were able to play both attacking and defending positions. I was impressed by their enthusiasm and when asked to come off the court for one of the quarters did so cheerfully.

The U9B’s now need to spread out and use more of the court during their training sessions. This will help them to allow the ball to flow from the centre circle to the shooters and from the defenders to the attackers.

Well done girls: you were a credit to Copthorne, being polite and showing good sportsmanship.

Cumnor House chose Charlotte as the Player of the Match, well done.
