U9B Netball v Lingfield Notre Dame

Won 7-2

During Thursdays games session Copthorne took on Lingfield Notre Dame for an U9 netball match.

The B’s got off to a superb start fighting hard from the centre pass, passing the ball well and moving into space. The girls were in full control and thanks to some fantastic shooting from Ellie the home side went 4 goals up after the 1st quarter.

Keeping the subs rotating, the 2nd and 3rd quarter turned into a more evenly contested game for the ball. Both teams made some fantastic interceptions, creating turn overs and goal scoring opportunities. In turn Simi, Kirsten and Ella (our GK and GD) had to be focused all the time, putting pressure on the shooters and reacting to rebounds. Everyone did a fantastic job marking and only 3 goals were scored between the two sides.

Copthorne started to maintain more of the possession during the final quarter. Charlotte and Sophie also kept the pace going with short, sharp passes to each other and feeding Isabelle and Ella with some quick balls into the D. A few chances were missed but the girls ended the game with one last goal.

Well done to all the girls for a great team effort and to Charlotte for being voted player of the match.

Team: Simi, Kirsten, Robin, Sophie, Charlotte, Ellie, Ella, Isabella, Lacey, Isabelle and Kimberley. HP
