U9B Rounders v Ardingly

29th April 2016

Won 13½-8½

Copthorne won the toss and decided to field first. The home side did not mind especially after they scored half a rounder off the first ball. Two more half rounders soon followed before Ellie found her range and the fielders stepped in to close down the ball before the batters rounded 1st post and limited Ardingly to 4½.

Copthorne took full advantage of already having a game under their belt and attacked the ball at every turn. The girl’s scored 2 full rounders and 9 half rounders, giving them a comfortable lead going into the 2nd innings.

Ardingly picked up on a few strategies and took more chances resulting in Copthorne miss fielding and giving away extra rounders. The girls managed to pull together in the field and once again restricted the opposition to 4 rounders.

Copthorne’s 2nd innings was fantastic. Everyone was making good contact with the ball and ran sensibly between the posts. The opposition only gave away . rounders, the other five rounders this innings coming off the bat, giving Copthorne a 13½ – 8½ victory.

Well done to Charlotte for being voted player of the match. HP
