U9B Rounders v Hurst

22nd April 2016

Won 12 1/2 -3

The girls travelled to Hurst this afternoon for their first match of the season on a sunny but a little chilly afternoon.

After the toss the girls batted and scored 8 rounders. Hurst then went into bat and owing to some tight fielding by Copthorne they only managed to score 1½ rounders. Copthorne then had their second innings and scored 4½ rounders and Hurst could only manage another1½ in theirs. The final score of 12½-3 was a good reflection of the abilities of both teams.

Ellie had a very good spell as bowler and took a catch and was rewarded by being chosen as the Player of the Match by the Hurst team. Ella B and Isabelle were the ‘dynamic duo’ on second base and in the deep. Between them they stumped out five Hurst players. Simi, Sophie, Isabella, Charlotte, Ava, Kimberley, Lacey all scored either half or full rounders.

It was a real team effort with excellent behaviour on the bus, during the match and at tea.

Well done girls, let’s carry on as you started!
