U9B vs Cumnor House

16th November 2017

It was an exciting afternoon for the last football match of the season and the boys were thrilled to be back at it in matches as they traveled to Cumnor House with much enthusiasm.

Upon kick off, the boys struggled to get the ball into the opposition territory which was a pity, as we had a fair share of the ball, but the boys positioned themselves well to be a threat all game long. After many fantastic saves from goal keeper Matthew W, the first 2 goals against us were unfortunately conceded. However, the last stages of play in the first half were really good as Ted R-B burst forward to try and counter attack the other team. In the second half, the performance was outstanding and all the boys played some of their best games of the season in that second half. Alexander G did ever so well to defend and even attack on the ball after receiving great passes from a rock solid Meet P in defense. 2nd half goal keeper, John H played outstandingly to keep the shots out from Cumnor House, whilst Toby F id well in the middle of the park to keep us  in possession.

The boys did really well to burst forward and create great chances, however they unfortunately got caught out on the break and conceded 2 late goals.

After a steady season, even though the boys didn’t get a result they were hoping for, the still  played with great heart  and courage and did themselves and their school extremely proud-Well done boys! I’m proud of you!

Final Score Copthorne U9B 0-4 Cumnor House
