The U9Cs travelled in the midst of a heatwave to Great Walstead where, having lost the toss, they batted first. Alexander and John were first pair to the crease and they scored 12 runs aided by some wayward bowling. Marcus and Ted were next in and Marcus struck the ball well on several occasions. A mix up in the middle resulted in a run-out which cost 5 runs. This restricted their total to just 4. Henry and Rex scored well, again aided by a healthy extras contribution but a lost wicket restricted their contribution to 9 runs. Alex and Nathan kept their wickets intact and scored 15 runs. They were followed by Felix and Dan who were scoring nicely but frustratingly lost two wickets and so produced a net score of 9 runs. Finally Rex and Marcus returned. They ran well and added a further 14 runs. A total of 168 (100 is added on at this age) was always going to be difficult to defend and with everyone bowling one over there were quite a few extras conceded. This meant that Great Walstead managed 184 in their 12 overs.

Man of the Match must go to Felix Teller for some impressive bowling. Keep working on that action Felix as it looks very promising!
