U9C Rugby v Great Walstead

1st February 2017

On a drab and wet afternoon we witnessed a rousing performance from the boys. To ensure that everyone got a game and with Great Walstead having an extra two players, we played 7 a side with a guest playing for Copthorne. I think this helps the boys socially and having to introduce themselves helps massively with communication which helps their sport .

The first half finished level at two tries each, with the boys tackling very well and using the touch line as a extra defender. Extra pressure in the second half, coupled with some good passing, saw the boys go into a 5-2 lead. Although we let in two late tries due to a lack of concentration, the boys still finished winning 5-4.

We set targets of six tackles in succession and a chain of 8 passes. The boys regularly achieved this, so well done, a fantastic team effort.

Try scorers Marcos with a hat-trick , Daniel and Alex.
