We made only our second away journey of the rugby season down the road to Great Walstead. Wading across the shallow waters we made it to our extremely wet pitch. Due to the number of Walstead players we decided we would play their A team first for 15 minutes then their B’s for the second 15 minutes. We began poorly and gave away a very easy try with 6 of our players waving a hand at the Walstead player. We struck straight back and scored a good try of our own. This pattern continued for most of the game as we grew into it and progressed well throughout the 15 minutes. The score for the first game finished 6-3 with some missed tackles costing us.

We all agreed at the break that during the second game we would need to be more confident with the tackling, and running with power and speed. This began well with us scoring a try right from the start of the match. We continued strong and went try-for-try with Walstead until we broke free and scored a couple of unanswered tries to finish 6-2 up. A much better second game in tough conditions with it being unbearably cold and wet up to the ankles. A tough day to play rugby but a good game by all. There is certainly some progress from the boys and signs that we are moving forward well.
