U9’s vs Ashdown house

15th March 2018

This week was the final week of a loooooooooooooooooooooong rugby season. After 13 weeks we were pitted against a school with similar numbers in the year group. As Ashdown House were bringing all of their year 4 contingent, we decided to do the same and give some value match experience to our less experienced players. Playing 3rds instead of halves, we started with our usually team and found ourselves in a tough match. Leading 6-4 at the first intermission. Tries for Arun x 3, Alex and rex getting us on the scoreboard. Having brought on our full allocation of substitutes we powered through the second third. We were so impressive we found ourselves 13-6 up at the second break. More tries for John, Harry, Henry, Charlie x2, Alex, Rex . The third third started and we still had our initial substitutes on the pitch as they’d done so well. We continued that strong middle third and ran in a few more tries. Finishing the game 19-10. With more tries for Alex x3, Matthew, Rex and Arun. A brilliant way to finish with the season with some valuable game time for Teddy, Meet and John who’s opportunities this season have been limited. Time to move on to cricket….
