Under 9 Cricketers too strong for Duke of Kent

Copthorne lost the toss and were put in to bat.

We made 300 runs in our 20 overs, losing only 1 wicket in our innings.

We amassed a huge total in our innings, thanks in part to some errant bowling, but also thanks to some good running between the wickets.  Charlie and Kieron were the pair who ran and communicated best.  Our top scorers today were Charlie who made 15 runs off 12 balls, Josh with 12 from 13, Bradley with 9 from 11 and Ayaan with 9 runs off 15 balls.

Duke of Kent managed 132 runs in reply, losing 9 wickets in the process.

Our bowling and fielding was pretty good today.  Amardip was very safe behind the stumps as wicket keeper, and Luke took catch of the day once again sliding forward onto his knees to take a low catch off his own bowling.  Luke had a day to remember, taking 3 wickets for only 2 runs in his 2 overs, including 2 wickets in 2 balls.  Josh also bowled well with 1 wicket for 3 runs, Bradley took 1 for 9 and Amardip was very economical, only conceding 3.  Our fielding and the large total put pressure on the visitors and we made this tell with a total of 4 run outs, one being a direct hit from captain Josh.

Well played boys, a comfortable win by 168 runs.
