Young Sports Person of the Year Nominee

Ex-Copthorne pupil Federica Williamson (older sister of our Head Girl, Veronica) has been nominated for Sussex Young Sports Person of the year for her outstanding swimming achievements but needs votes from the public to win.

Federica’s swimming achievements this year alone include:

National

English Schools Swimming Association National champion for both 2009 and 2010 – 100M Breastroke

Represented England at the ‘WISE’ Home internationals (Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England) – Silver medal in 100m Breastroke, and Gold Medal in 4 x 100m Medley Relay – selected again for England for 2011.

IAPS (Independent Schools Association) – National Breastroke Champion and Record Holder – 2008/2009/2010

Member of the ‘England’ national development squad

British Championships – Breastroke

British National Age Group Championships (finalist) – 4th place 100M Breastroke and 6th Place 200M Breastroke

British Gas National Inter Counties Junior Champion – 100M Breastroke (All counties in the country send a  representative to this event).

British Age Group – 13 Years – All Time National Record holder 50M Breastroke

Regional

South East England South East England Regional Record Holder – 13 Years old – 50M and 100M Breastroke

County Sussex County Age Group Champion – Overall for 2008/2009/2010 – Gold Medals in all disciplines –  Breastroke / Freestyle / Butterfly / Backstroke

Sussex County Junior and Senior 100M Breastroke Record Holder (No female swimmer of any age has swam faster in the county.)
