1st VII Netball v Brambletye – Won 19-14

Due to the weather this week, the 1st VII girls had to wait a long time before playing their match.  Supporting the U8s and U10s in our Sports Hall first, it was now their turn to play.

We made a good start with Harriet, as usual dominating the centre court.  Alys and Hannah worked well together today and Hannah made some lovely passes to Alys to score.  Between our 2 shooters we were ahead after the 1st quarter 5-2.

This was definitely not a game to be complacent in.  The Brambletye girls were athletic and quick and they had a very useful GA who kept Karina on her toes, but both Micki and Karina marked their players well and Micki rebounded brilliantly.

We kept our lead throughout the match, and saw some text book netball with some excellent passing and movement from all of the Copthorne girls.  There are still a few areas to iron out, but all in all we played some good netball today. Our 2 wing players, Jemima and Liliana are settling well into the team and once again Hannah deserved her Player of the Match status for scoring some excellent goals and her ball handling skills.  Well done Hannah and the team!  MJ
