U11A Rounders v Great Walstead – Won 11½-6½

Although we didn’t win the toss, Copthorne was determined to set the pace batting first. Initially our batting wasn’t as strong as it can be however as a result of several no balls and some great shots and sharp judgement from the girls we managed to enter fielding with 9½.

Our bowling was strong and Great Walstead found it difficult to score especially as there was some strong fielding- we managed to get 8 batters out with 5 good balls left. Our passing was accurate and fast and it wasn’t long before some of the batters were caught out with some great catches from Natalie, Harriet, Alys and Karina.

In the second innings Great Walstead changed their bowler which gave us less no balls. Although Copthorne were very determined to score more than the first innings Great Walstead fielded tightly and we only managed to score another 2 rounders.
The girls began their fielding slightly under pressure but despite some strong batting from the opposition we managed to hold on to our lead.
Well done girls!  LD
