U11A Rouners v Cumnor – Lost 9-11½

Despite the constant threat of rain and a sudden hailstorm we were lucky to play a whole match. Despite losing this was a fairly even sided game. Copthorne opened the batting and despite some accurate and very fast bowling from Cumnor we were able to score six rounders. Our fielding was tight too which prevented the opposition from scoring more than five.
However it was in the second innings that we made some mistakes and with 6 good balls left we were down to one batter. As a result we did not score as many as the first innings and it was therefore easier for Cumnor to either equalise or win.
Our fielding was good in the second innings with some great catches from Natalie and Alys however, some misfielding allowed Cumnor to score.
Overall it was a good match as the girls worked well as a team. We do need to continue practising both our batting and fielding however, I am sure we will have better luck in the next match.  LD
