U11A Rounders v Cottesmore – Won 19-14½

Copthorne opened the first innings batting. Our batting was slightly inconsistent and we did not score as many as we can. Although Cottesmore’s fielding was good our girls were not reading the game and lost out on a couple of opportunities. However, the

opposition’s bowler gave a few no balls away and we finished the first innings on 8 rounders.

Cottesmore’s batting was good too but due to some great tight fielding and three superb catches from Harriet they only managed to score 5½.

Copthorne’s batting in the second innings was much better and as a consequence the girls were scoring on several no balls. There were some great rounders from Jemima, Alys, Elizabeth and Harriet. However top scorer of the day was Natalie who placed several shots askew to the left of the fielders and as a result scored a total of 6½!  We entered the fielding on a bit of a high as our final score was at 19.

Cottesmore were very determined to score too and we gave 2 rounders away by the first 2 balls. Alys maintained some great bowling and although we gave away points through misfielding, Cottesmore did not catch up with our score – although it was very close.  Well done girls, you came through and won the game. Thank you to the Mum’s who supported us.  LD

Top batter – Natalie

Best fielder – Harriet for a total of four catches.
