We have now learnt (& hopefully remembered!) all our initial RWI sounds and will be starting our journeys through the RWI stages from next week. We have also learned about 2D shapes and carefully examined their properties: how many sides and does it have corners? Lots of fun was had making pictures using shapes and then tracing around them. Jack Y’s daddy even became a snowman!

We’ve also had our first glance at time, focussing on the seasons, yesterday, today and tomorrow. The children made season wheels which caused quite a stir and great discussions.

We’ve had our first look at Christmas, making something from shapes to go on our large display board and we are eager and excited to get the topic into full swing. Ho! Ho! Ho!
