Drawing our own Maps!

20th May 2016

We have used the map of the United Kingdom over the past few weeks and have labelled one with some important physical and human features. This week we were very excited to draw our own map, add co-ordinates and decide where treasure might be hiding for pirates to find! We also listened to stories about pirates and heard the ‘Pirate code’ – very scary! In our maths we have been ordering quite large numbers and working out in between numbers too – lots of maths language to get to grips with!

In art we dissected a bulb to see the different layers within and then, using appropriate colours of twisted pieces of tissue, we glued layers onto card until they resembled the layers of our bulb. We were really proud of our wonderful results.
