What a lovely day for our trip to Hever. To get inside the castle we went through the gatehouse looking at the arrow slits and murder holes! We saw the dining room, bedrooms and the long gallery. We found learning about Henry VIII and his 6 wives fascinating and we are quite glad we live now rather than in the Tudor times! The yew tree maze, the water maze and the castle playground were the highlight for some.

To continue our topic, we have made the front of castles out of clay, trying to include the portcullis, and battlements. We are also trying to locate some famous British castles on a map of the UK.

We have also found out about St. George and have read numerous books based around knights, kings, queens and princesses. What a busy week!
