Year 1 News – Week 10

27th November 2016

We have continued with our theme about ‘light and dark’ and listened to the story ‘Can’t you sleep Little Bear?’ We talked about what makes us scared … most saying the dark – just like Little Bear! We wrote captions about what the Big Bear and Little Bear spoke about inside speech bubbles.

In maths we had fun using toy animals to demonstrate positional language and then used the language to follow directions and find things. Perhaps you could have some fun at home, especially with ‘left’ and ‘right’!

We also were very busy making reindeer decorations for Santa’s Grotto for the school ‘Winter Wonderland’.

You may have noticed that the children are getting on well with our songs for the Nativity! Please can costumes be in by Monday 28th November. Thank you.

Another Virtual Open Day!

Our next Virtual Open Day will take place on Saturday 3 October where we will share a link to an exclusive Open Morning page. The page will contain more information about our school and videos showing ‘A day in the Nursery/Pre-Prep/Prep School’.

Should you wish to speak to the Headmaster & Head of Pre-Prep in person, you are also invited for a 1:1 (socially distanced) chat at your convenience.

To book an appointment, or to register your place for the Virtual Open Day, please email our Registrar, Kathryn Billingham-West on
