When we visited the Broadfield mosque, we were shown around by some very welcoming members and told so many facts about Islam! The mosque can accommodate 2,500 people and is sometimes full. Many of the Muslim children attend a special school at the mosque from 5pm to 7pm to learn how to read the Qu’ran. Some can recite the whole Qu’ran by heart when they are sixteen. Some of the children in the Pre-Prep impressed their peers by reciting prayers in Arabic. It was very special to get a peek into life at the mosque.
