Celebrating life comes easily to most of our Year 2’s, so this new topic was met with enthusiasm. Arriving to classrooms garlanded with balloons and ribbons on Monday morning was great!

We enjoyed using our strength to smash open the Year 2 piñata and find a name of a celebration that we can find out more about. This week has certainly been full of celebrations with Bonfire Night, Diwali and of course Remembrance Day on Sunday. The children wrote beautiful acrostic poems about Remembrance Day and wrote thoughtful explanations on why we commemorate this special day.

During Maths we have looked at ordinal numbers and place value.

Our first rehearsals for ‘Behind the Stable Door’ have started; please can you help your child to learn his/her lines… this will make rehearsals are more enjoyable for everyone.  Olivia, Mahi and Sammy stood out as having learnt their lines off by heart, and knew when to say them … well done!  Line learning can take place instead of reading at home if this helps … and do let your class teacher know if you have lost your child’s lines!
