Our topic of ‘Fire and Ice’ continues to excite and inspire the children and staff alike.

There was great excitement in Forest School for the Year 2s who enjoyed eating delicious rainbow trout cooked by Mr Lloyd over an open fire! The children imagined what life would be like for Inuits living in the Artic regions and were fascinated by how the appearance of the fish changed as it cooked. When the fish was ready to eat, there was a continuous stream of ravenous children, with many finding it so delicious that they returned for seconds, thirds and even fourths!

In Science we have been investigating how ice melts and using our understanding of this to plan and carry out an experiment into which areas of the Pre-Prep are hottest and which the coldest. Beth has been very interested in our findings as she is always cold and watching the thermostat closely to make sure that the findings are accurate.
