U8 Rounders v Great Walstead – Lost 14-15

Today the girls were ready for their second match of the week. Today’s Captain was Sophia Vieira as she was my player of the match on Monday’s game. Today we lost the toss and so batted first.

During the first innings the girls found the bowling quite tricky to hit off. However full rounders were scored by Callie Benedict, Emma Nathaniel and Emily Goodfellow. After their first bat the girls had a total of 8½ … a good score! The girls were also on the ball when they were fielding, Great Walstead scored a total of 9! A start of a very close and interesting game!

During the second innings the girls once again found it hard to hit the ball off the bowling. Full rounders were scored by Callie Benedict. The girls total was 14 rounders so they knew they had to field tightly if they wanted to win. Great Walstead batted well and Copthorne fielded well. It went all the way to the last 2 balls – a good hit and ½ rounders scored. The final score was 14 to Copthorne and 15 to Great Walstead.

A great game girls and great sportsmanship!  HC
