U9A Netball v Brambletye – Won 18-0

Well what can I say after a score line like that, the under 9’s were definitely back on form and at their best this week!

From when the whistle blew Copthorne dominated the play allowing Brambletye little possession of the ball. The shooters Yelena and Alice were on fire today, and the attack consisting of Ami and Hermione/Ellie gelled together nicely, moving well into space and linking well with the shooters. The defence once again proved to be a valuable asset for this team and Madeline, Elise and Amber worked hard allowing Brambletye no shots on goal. As a result of the whole team’s effort, Copthorne were leading by nine goals to nil at half time!

At half time changes were made and some of the girl’s found themselves playing out of their ‘usual’ position, more so in the last quarter. Copthorne however took this in their stride, and there was some nice play from Elise as centre who worked well with the wings Yelena and Alice. The defence consisting of Ami and Hermione despite their height played phenomenally and despite Brambletye picking up their game, they stopped Brambletye from entering the D to go for goal! Amber and Ellie also got stuck in as shooters resulting in some great goals being scored by Ellie with near misses from Amber, helping to add to the total score today. The final score was 18 goals to Copthorne and 0 for Brambletye!

Well done girls, a brilliant afternoon of netball, however there are still a few areas we could improve on to keep up the high standard of netball already being achieved and to strengthen your game even further!

Once again though well done girls and thank you to all the supporters, this is def a team to watch out for in the future, and over the forthcoming weeks! TC
