The U9B team had their first match of the season this week against St Christophers, so we travelled down to Brighton to play on the sea front! the girls were all very excited not only just to play but to see the sea.
The girls took a while to get into the game and by the end of the first quarter the girls were 2-0 down. They were not disheartened by this at all and were even more determined to score a goal. The girls began to get into space and the second quarter saw some lovely linking play between Rebecca Moore-Williams, Holly Khambhaita and Clara Vincent. At half time Copthorne had closed the gap and the score was 2-1 to St Christophers.
In the second half the girls continued to play well getting into space and getting back to mark their players. Good interceptions were made by Emily Workman and Emilie Lagrange in defence while Holly and Rebecca continued to link the ball well getting into down to the circle. In the circle Madeline Parker and Clara worked well together passing in and out of the circle and moving under the post. At the end of the second half the final score was 3-2 to St Christophers.
The girls played with enthusiasm and determination and continued to fight for the ball. It was a lovely game and the girls should be very pleased with the result.
Well done girls, keep up the hard work!
