U10A Netball v Lingfield Notre Dame – Drew 6-6

Notre Dame won the first centre pass and initially it looked like they were the stronger team scoring two goals in the first 4 minutes. However Copthorne were focused and driven and between our two shooters the score by the end of the first quarter was 4-2.

After a couple of changes Copthorne came into the second quarter with renewed vigour. Our GK and GD, Neve and Rosie were on fire as they intercepted balls and caused mayhem in the D. As a result Notre Dame were unable to shoot leaving Copthorne with the opportunity to gain another goal.
our Captain and centre Amelia made some great interceptions and passes whilst Kathryn, Jemima, Katie and Khushi all worked hard too when on court to keep the ball flowing to our shooting third.
It was after half time that Copthorne equalised bringing the total score to 4-4.  However Notre Dame fought hard to get another goal. There were some great passes from all the girls and although spacing is something we still need to work on, Copthorne worked hard to get the ball down to the shooters. Despite an injury in the last 5 minutes where she had to come off Ella D was soon back on court to score together with Ella C. Her final shot was fantastic and brought us to the draw.

Overall after last week’s defeat it was great to see the team slowly come together and play some great Netball. Well done girls and let’s win it next week.

Thank you to all the parents who came to watch and support us. Also thank you to both umpires especially to Miss Cook.  LD
