Year 6 – Ardingly STEM Competition

1st February 2017

Ardingly STEM CompetitionPupils from Year 6 had an interesting and fun day at Ardingly College. They designed, built and raced solar powered cars. In order to do this they learned how to use trigonometry to angle their solar panels for maximum effect. They also worked in the science labs to understand how energy can be transferred to make things move.

A lot was learned about trying again if something did not work and teams had varying degrees of success when racing. A special mention for Antony N whose team came 2nd in the race, beating 17 other teams. Well done to all who took part.
